Welcome to MOPS New Zealand
MOPS is for all mothers of preschoolers - including pregnant mums-to-be. At MOPS we believe that what you do as a mum really does matter and you make a huge difference in your child’s life. Mothers need to have sanity breaks, time to refresh, to have adult conversation, a hot cuppa, and a place to feel accepted, understood and supported, plus a chance to grow and develop as a woman, mother, and leader. Mums have the opportunity to grow new friendships and gain support networks while gaining access to community and parenting resources. A MOPS group provides a caring, accepting atmosphere for all mothers and young children, where mums have the opportunity to share in a time of instruction, discussion and craft. While Mum attends MOPS, the children are cared for in MOPPETS, a programme that offers a loving, learning environment for children. At MOPS we aim to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of preschoolers to realise her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. MOPS NZMOPS is an international programme to support and encourage mothers of preschoolers in the uniquely demanding early years of motherhood. Affiliated to MOPS International, MOPS NZ has adapted the programme to make it culturally relevant and available in New Zealand. MOPS NZ provides a well developed programme structure, and supports and develops MOPS leaders with excellent resources and training. MOPS NZ is run by a passionate and dedicated core of people and volunteers that have experienced the value of MOPS firsthand.
